Dr. Kyle E. Johnson is a Board-Certified Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgeon, certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS).
His special interests include: flatfoot management and correction, Haglund's deformity surgery, Achilles repair, arthritis management of the foot and ankle, cartilage preservation, sports medicine, tendon and ligament repair, traumatic injury correction and fracture care, lower extremity biomechanics, bunion correction, diabetic limb salvage, and diabetic foot education and prevention.
Dr. Johnson believes that less is more. He forms a partnership with his patients and explains his thoughts fully. He takes time to talk to his patients about how he arrived at his diagnosis and the available treatment options. He manages conditions without surgery whenever possible. Dr. Johnson's ultimate goal is to return his patients to the activities they enjoy, with the intention of improving quality of life.
Dr. Johnson completed comprehensive medical and surgical training at the Yale Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program affiliated with Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT where he received extensive training in diabetic limb salvage and plastic surgery techniques for the treatment of acute and chronic diabetic and traumatic wounds. He served as Chief Resident and received the Gary P. Jolly Academic Achievement Award and the Yale Foot and Ankle Surgery Residency Academic Excellence Award.
He earned a medical degree (Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine) from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he earned distinction as a member of Pi Delta National Honor Society and graduated in the top tenth percentile of his class.
Dr. Johnson is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), and maintains active memberships with the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and Florida Podiatric Medical Association (FPMA).
Dr. Johnson was born in the Chicago suburbs and raised in Palm Harbor, FL. He attended East Lake High School and graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in Biology while studying as a Presidential Scholar. He is an avid Tampa Bay sports fan and enjoys running (Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K), and playing ice hockey, softball and golf.
